During the season of Advent, we walk with Mary and John the Baptist, with the prophets and holy men and women who looked forward to the coming of the Messiah.
The Council Blog this month will first look at expressions that bring the Advent season to life for us. Then we will consider our reading of the Word as we prepare to welcome the Word Made Flesh. Then we will look at the spirit of the Advent/Christmas season. The Rule of Life of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary expresses the importance of living the liturgical cycle in our spirituality. “The Church teaches us to pray: she opens for us the living springs of prayer…From day to day, year to year, she introduces us more deeply into the mystery of Christ, following the rhythm of the liturgical cycle. Our foundress has shown us in her life and teaching how, in this sacred school we must learn Jesus Christ…” (C53)
